The treble clef

The treble clef (also called G clef) anchors the note G on the second line of the staff. It is used for higher notes, the right-hand part on the piano, as well as most wind instruments and violin.

Classic mnemonics: lines spell 'Every Good Boy Does Fine' (E-G-B-D-F) and spaces spell FACE (F-A-C-E).

The two ledger lines below the staff extend the range down to Middle C (C4, 1st ledger) and A3 (2nd ledger). The two above reach up to A5 and C6.
